how do most of you now feel about the military?

was not sure where to post this, but i was curious, how do some of you now feel about the military?

would any of you let your children enlist, or would you yourselves join any military field?

how do you feel about the idea of women in the military?

I have great respect for those who serve.

Unfortunately, in the US government, they do not.

They cynically use the troops as cannon fodder to promote imperial and monetary aims.

When the troops that they claim to love come home, with missing limbs, maimed faces, and horrible psychological wounds, the government then cuts their funding, and leaves them to rot.

Hey, you need someone to defend at the gates of the city? I'll be there with my sons!

You want me to send my boys to fight in a war so that Dick Cheney and his effing cronies can increase their stock portfolio? Hell, no!

most of the time, sparsely used, and today was a very blustery day.. notice the justifying comment- "quite a few" checking out the cart.

maybe it is just me but when i read this paragraph all i could do is shake my head and wonder how i used to buy into this crap and how people don't wonder what the hell the writers are thinking'.

Anybody ever see the movie or read the book "A Civil Action"? This is basically the same situation. The WTBS is in for a very long, very expensive legal battle. These corporations can hide and move and shuffle the blame around forever...
And the WTBS should know, they have been experts at it for quite awhile themselves...

If you ever get the chance, you must see the stage production of the 39 Steps. It's a great tribute/spoof to the film and to the other well known works of Alfred Hitchcock. I saw it in Toronto last Summer, and it was fantastic.
